RAIL CAR SERVICES

We are the go-to resource for resolving overloaded/overweight or out-of-balance rail car issues. We routinely work with agricultural products such as winter wheat, soybean meal, barley, corn, corn gluten meal, protein meal, citrus feed pellets, rice, distillers grain, urea fertilizer, molasses etc. as well as industrial products such as lumber, wall board, steel plates, beams, scrap metal, bundled copper, paper rolls, pulp bales, silica sand, polyethylene pellets, limestone, kaolin and bentonite clay, mica, cement, roofing granules, sodium sulfate, pine chips, brick, soap powder and many more products that have been overloaded or have shifted during transit.

We arrange for all the parties necessary to lighten and re-balance and/or block/brace the railcar, and deliver or dispose of the offloaded product. Often we can arrange for creative alternatives to disposal, reducing costs and waste.

No railyard is too remote or product too challenging, and we are familiar with the protocols for all the major railroads.

Having your railcar pulled off course for adjustment can be a very stressful and difficult situation, especially while a customer is waiting for it to be delivered. It can be even worse if the car is sitting in a city where you have no contacts. But we are here for you! We have helped customers adjust their cars in pretty much every nook of the country. We can guide you through the process start to finish: from explaining options to monitoring the car's location until it is available for adjustment, to even finding potential buyers for the surplus product, or possibly free disposal in cases where there is no buyer. We also notify the railroad when the car is ready for release and fax them any paperwork they may require.

For dry bulk products like wheat or sand, we use either a vacuum style pneumatic tank (also called a 'self-loader') or an auger/conveyor type system, depending on what's available in the area and what you may specifically need.

We also have a network of forklift and crane operators who we hire for industrial type products like steel, lumber, pulp and paper products.

We are happy to coordinate trucking for your offloaded product, or we will work with your preferred trucking company if you'd like.
